Drone are becoming a large part of everyday life and have found purposes in multiple applications.
Last month the Sedona Fire District, located in Arizona, purchased their first drone to add to their arsenal. They tested out different scenarios when the drone can be used such as finding lost or injured hikers, flood damage and more.
The drone can take less than a minute to get to an area and start searching, where a vehicle may take 5 minutes or more.
The unit can search within a ½ mile radius from the operator, take high definition video and still pictures which aid in a search.
Their newly acquired drone was used to aid in the rescue of 3 individuals who were stranded in the middle of Beaver Creek. All 3 were pulled to safety.
